I think all of us grew up with a particular attachment to fairy tales – in part due to mental conditioning by Disney. But there was an appeal to them that always grabbed me in their darker moments, especially when those moments ended on a question that was left unsolved. Unable to be solved, in fact, by the fairy tale characters, since the questions were truly posed to the readers themselves.
You will find here a collection of fables I have written, with the purpose of publishing an illustrated book for young adults who might not be familiar with that feeling. So, join me on our walk to Hatuga today, where we might happen across ancient voracious Crocodiles the size of mountains, Orangutan librarians, Caterpillars sowing the seeds of revolution, a Walrus who scales a mountain to find better lands for his people, and an Owl who sees it all come to pass.
These are the Fables of the Hatugan Forest-Peoples. Preserved by the future, for the past.
